It was a cold and windy night. Santa was flying and dancing in his sleigh. Jumping through the dark, dusty sky. He came sliding and slipping down the dark, dusty chimney. The snow on the mountains is slippery, cold and wet. Santa and his reindeer fly over. Santa gives me presents to open and see the surprise that we get. The tinsel on the green spiky Christmas tree. Christmas time is a time to share and spend with your family. Dancing and prancing in the wind go the reindeer. The hooves clip and clop on the rooftops. The wind is pushing the reindeer to go faster and pulling the sleigh.

Impromptu Play - The Three Little Pigs
A super duper group of learners put together a play of the three little pigs with no props or script. They were very clever in how they put the play together and organised themselves to perform so well to an audience. We are very proud of you all.
No wolves (or children) were harmed in the making of this video.

Daphne Flowers
Louie kindly brought in some stunning daphne flowers. The whole pod smells amazing. We used the flowers to help us with our writing. Here are a few examples I thought you should see.
The white creamy flowers have thin light pink outlines. They smell like perfume. Green branches tangle out the brown stripes winding around them like snakes. Lola
The silky leaves are very delicate. They are beautiful if you look at them. Kiana
The white edge petals are small. The petals are falling on the table. They have four petals. They have hot pink edges. Ella
The buds are hot pink. The edges are dark pink. There is four little stamens in the middle. Kaya
The flower has light green leaves. It has uncomfortable stamens in the middle of the petals. Sebbie

Reflections of Sir Edmund Hillary
This person is special – can you guess? He is Sir Edmund Hilary. He didn’t die climbing Mt Everest. He had a person from Nepal with him. Other people have died climbing Mt Everest.
Abby

Sir Edmund Hillary was the first person to climb Mt Everest. He is named
Sir Edmund Hillary because he is special. You can’t climb Mt Everest without
anything. You have to eat food, breathe and survive. Every breath is like
burning fire. You must go with someone. At the top it is dangerous and cold.
You have to be brave and sensible. Mt Everest is in Nepal. People live in the
mountains but they do not live on Mt Everest. Sir Edmund Hillary put a flag on
the top of Mt Everest to show that he was the first person to climb Mt Everest.
You have to be a good climber to do that.

Mount Everest is the biggest Mountain in the world. Sir Edmund Hillary was so proud of himself when he got to the top of the mountain and they celebrated. Sir Edmund Hillary was very brave. It took a long time and the mountain was very cold.

Sir Edmund Hillary is a climbing master. The Queen calls him Sir Edmund Hillary. He climbed Mount Everest. He’s dead now. He was the first one to climb Mount Everest. It is very cold up there. Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Mt Everest before I was born.
Sebbie.
Mount Everest is the biggest mountain in the whole wide world. Sir Edmund Hilary had the right gear on to climb the mountain. But he died when he got old.
Kaya
Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Mt Everest because he wanted to be proud of himself. He was the first person to climb Mt Everest. Sir Edmund Hillary put a flag on top of the mountain. Nepal is a beautiful place.

Measuring on our own
Our investigation into understanding measurement continues. Check out the different ways we have helped each other with measurement using different things in different ways. This type of learning alongside intensive teaching has lifted our test scores really high in a very short amount of time. Well done Pod 2. Great independent learning.
