These children have been writing their friends names with capital letters on the balloons.
Remember to send along healthy fruit snacks for our 'Brain Breaks'
Letter Formation
We are working hard on forming our letters correctly.
Olive and Ayla are great role models to Show where the tall letters start and making sure we use the lines in our books.

Our Fabulous Holiday Stories. We have been trying different sentence starters and using adjectives to make our stories interesting.
I fastened my boots. I buckled my boots and slipped into my skis.
I got better and better.
I had a smile on my face from ear to ear.
I smiled and smiled.
I was proud of myself.
I went on the chairlift.
Ania-Kanu
I fastened my seat belt. The air hostess said "Please be seated"
I drove in my car to my Nana's house.
Then we went to a house beside the beach.
The sun shone in through my window.
Olive Seddon
I flew over my poles. I went flying and fell over.
I went with my family.
The cold air flew past my face.
I had to wear a warm jacket and a woolly hat.
Ryan Coupe
Splash! I jumped into the water.
I was proud of myself because I learnt how to swim in the swimming ring.
In the swimming ring I kicked and kicked.
It was fun.
Marley Lahood

Hip, hip hooray!!!It was my birthday.
I loved it when my friends gave me a present.
Then I opened them. I couldn't wait to open them.
I ripped the paper off the present.
I loved when I saw the presents.
Saria Halabi
"Mmmmmm". The cookies are cooking in the oven.
I can smell the chocolate melting.
I am stirring the mixture to mix it up.
I am eating a cookie.
It crunches in my mouth.

I can hear the ocean!
Isabella and Ayla discovered that they could hear the ocean in the shells. They shared their discovery at our reflection time and we had a very interesting discussion on how that could be. The children thought:
- there might be water in there
- it's because there is sand in there
- it is because they are from the ocean

Fundamental skills
A station we can choose at Pataitai Stations is developing fundamental sport skills. These clever learners are practicing bouncing the ball with one hand. Check out the amazing backdrop! These boys are trying to walk with stilts which requires a lot of balance and core strength. Great job helping each other boys.
Measuring on our own
Our investigation into understanding measurement continues. Check out the different ways we have helped each other with measurement using different things in different ways. This type of learning alongside intensive teaching has lifted our test scores really high in a very short amount of time. Well done Pod 2. Great independent learning.
