Keeping Ourselves Safe

We are starting off this term discussing how to keep ourselves safe at school and in the playground. We are learning to be assertive and use the 'Bug Off' procedure. To tell a friend if someone is doing something you don't like and to ask for help. We are making time in our day to have quiet circle time after morning tea and lunch time to check in with our class and ensure they have had a positive play experience. The children are doing a fabulous job talking about their feelings. Please feel free to talk to your teacher if your child shares a story at home where they are upset so we can follow it up. 

Welcome back to Term Four

The children have all come back refreshed and fill of stories with their families and friends. They have been very respectful with each other and keen to continue with their learning goals. 

Cross Country

Well done to all the children for achieving their personal running goals at Cross Country. All children showed perseverance and commitment to achieve their goals. 

Trip to Arrowtown Museum

The children really enjoyed the trip. They got to see old artifacts from 100yrs ago. Look at the old buildings and an old jail. Also experience life at school 100 yrs ago in Miss Grey's class. Don't they look gorgeous!!!

Creative Dance

We are also creating an opportunity for children to be creative and dance with ribbons to make a performance and share at sharing time.

Fairy tales

This week we are focussing on fairy tales. Writing your own, retelling and acting them out.

Jump Jam and Folk Dancing

The children are really enjoying learning new songs and moves and getting fit. Great coordination team!!!!

Ready for Term 3

The teachers have been very busy making the pod look exciting and planning a lot of fun new ideas for the term. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning. We hope you have all had a great holiday.

The Best Weaving Ever

We have had such a great time weaving and we were so lucky having Diane in to make felt faces with us.

RAPunzel Show

Today 3 talented performers from the Christchurch Playhouse company visited our school. They performed RAPunzel for us. We were wowed! Thank you for the wonderful show.

Practising for Assembly

We have been busy practising presenting our assembly using loud voices, actions and facial expressions. Remember to come to our assembly in the hall on Friday at 2:15pm

Red day at school

Wow! A sea of red and smiley faces. We all dressed up today in red to support the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

Welcome Room 5

This term 20 children from Pod 1 have joined us and have formed Room 5. They are settling in well and are enjoying the Pod 2 programme.
