We have been working hard on comparing heavy and light objects. We can order, compare and use mathematical language.

Brain Box
On Friday the brain box made its first entry into Pod 2. What an amazing morning investigating electrical circuits. After lots of trial and error it was discovered that some of the batteries were flat. We needed to make a complete circuit first to find that out. There were some challenges in learning that this is not an activity that you can undertake on your own with limited equipment. We are all learning together to work as a team and follow the plans.

Spy Camera
One of our Pataitai Stations is Spy Camera. Using a digital camera the children photograph others doing good learning. The great fun is sneaking around spying on others.

Team work in science
Abby and Cody chose to work together to create the most amazing science poster. It has a lot of information about the life cycle of the butterfly and its life changes. The butterfly's at the top were added later to create a 3D effect. Outstanding team work and research completely independent from any teachers.

Word Attacks!
During Pataitai Stations we like to explore different ways to practice our word writing skills. Lucy has used a mind map to organise her learning. Sophia has been exploring new words on the word wall. Cody is using flashcards to learn new words he hasn't seen before and Blaise has written a story and drawn a picture to make it even more beautiful. These are all independent learning choices. Awesome self directed learning guys.
