What is angry like?

We have been exploring our feelings as part of our Keeping Ourselves Safe programme.  Here are some examples of describing what angry is like.

Chloe F
When I am angry my head explodes.  My face feels red.  My legs fall to dust.

Arliya
When I am angry I get fire.  It gets fire on my head.  My legs have pimples.

Monty
When I am angry I feel mad.  I feel sad.  I shout!

Jessie
When I feel angry I feel like I am a volcano.  I see a big red splodge on the ground.  I fall to the ground.

Rachael
When I feel angry my head feels funny.  I see my face with smoke.  My brain shakes.

Number before and after Learning Strategy

Jessie has been investigating ways to help her learn the number before and after a number. She wrote out a set of numbers then underneath, in a bubble she put the number before. It looks very organised and well presented. What a great way to help show your thinking. Well done Jessie.

Room 0

Jorja is writing the sounds that Jessie puts up on the big whiteboard.
Welcome to Room 0. It is a small room off the main learning center that is set up like a mini classroom. The children teach each other as if they were in their own classroom. They take on the role of student or teacher and work together to improve their own learning. This is a choice activity and is very popular by many children.

The girls look on as they wait for Jessie to write up the lesson for them.

Thinking - thinking.

The teacher is managing her class very well. They are all focused, engaged and on task. Great work Jessie. Super learning done by all.

Spy Camera

One of our Pataitai Stations is Spy Camera.  Using a digital camera the children photograph others doing good learning.  The great fun is sneaking around spying on others.

Number writing

Here is Jessie practising her numbers in the Question Space.  She worked on her own for a long time to fill her piece of paper and her numbers are all the right way around.  Well done Jessie!

Jessie in the travel agency

Jessie was very busy in the travel agency showing William on the globe where the North Pole was and then making her passport to go Dunedin.  Cody, Isabella, Sophie and William were working hard in the office.
