Traditional String Game lesson

Lucy and Emily have been helping each other to explain how to make a parachute using the traditional Maori string game. I really like how they help each other and speak very clearly about each step. Well done girls. Tu meke learning and teaching

Our Special Lamb Visit

Jazmine brought her very special pet lamb to school today. We were so excited we wrote some beautiful stories about her visit.

Today a curly lamb came to school. His two front legs were bent slightly and he limped. Lola

A lamb came into school. It was soft. I thought that when you feed it you didn't put your hand under its head. It is funny. Ethan

I could see a lamb and I didn't know that I could walk. But it use to not walk. It got injections in the bottom and now it can walk. Lucy

The lamb came into the classroom. The lamb walked into the classroom and had a drink and did a wee. Pisss! Louie

Celeste brought her pet kitten to school called Misty.
Watch the movie about all the funny things Misty can do.

The  cat   was  as soft  as a  teddy  bear .  I  liked  the silky cat.   She is cheeky.

Practising writing

Here are Sophia G and Lucy working very hard to copy text from a picture book accurately on the board.  They worked side by side for a long time copying the words together.  Lucy has added dashes for where all the fingerspaces go.  Well done girls!

Now it is time for the news and weather ...

The children have had great fun pretending to be the newsreader and/or the weather person.  They have been practising their skills in speaking in a clear voice and planning what they need to say.

Word Attacks!

During Pataitai Stations we like to explore different ways to practice our word writing skills. Lucy has used a mind map to organise her learning. Sophia has been exploring new words on the word wall. Cody is using flashcards to learn new words he hasn't seen before and Blaise has written a story and drawn a picture to make it even more beautiful. These are all independent learning choices. Awesome self directed learning guys.
