WOW! What a day!!!!!

Smiling faces everywhere from all children, instructors and parents.
It was so nice to see all the families having such a great day together.
All children were well behaved and enjoyed their lessons.
The weather was beautiful and snow was amazing.
Look forward to seeing more action next Thursday.
 Having fun with our instructor.

Our Special Lamb Visit

Jazmine brought her very special pet lamb to school today. We were so excited we wrote some beautiful stories about her visit.

Today a curly lamb came to school. His two front legs were bent slightly and he limped. Lola

A lamb came into school. It was soft. I thought that when you feed it you didn't put your hand under its head. It is funny. Ethan

I could see a lamb and I didn't know that I could walk. But it use to not walk. It got injections in the bottom and now it can walk. Lucy

The lamb came into the classroom. The lamb walked into the classroom and had a drink and did a wee. Pisss! Louie

Look at these super duper achievers!
Hard work pays off in so many ways.
The best part is how good it makes you feel.
Well done!

Amazing Winter Stories.

WINTER
The snow danced to the ground.
I got white snow on me.
It was freezing and it was cold.
The snow shines in the sun.

Myles Nichol

SNOW
It is like a blanket when it covers the mountains.
I like the soft snow.
It is like silk.
The snow floated onto the ground.

Lili Kaler

SNOW
It is like a blanket covering the mountains.
The snow is glittering in the sun.
I was freezing.

Olive Seddon

SNOW
The mountain is covered with snow like a blanket.
When the sun came out it glistened.  It felt cold.
I like the snow.  It is cold,  like an ice block.

Retelling Stories

We have been learning to retell a story. We have to remember how the story starts, what the problem is in the story, how the story ends and all the details inbetween. Its great for thinking about sequencing, comprehension and talking about text. We take turns sharing our stories with a buddy then they get to tell their buddy their story. Awesome respect and listening skills developing on both sides.

These boys have been talking about treasure from this awesome big book. Great skills in taking turns, investigating language and exploring text together.

We worked with Pod 4 children to create a treasure map. We had to write directions on how to reach the treasure using the positional language we have been learning. ( Under, over, beside, North, South, up, down)
