The Haunted House

We have been writing fabulous descriptions of a haunted house.  Ayla got to go and see Wendy because her writing was amazing.  We looked at an google image of a haunted house and listen to spooky music on You tube to motivate our ideas.  Our writing sounds better when we have adjectives, strong verbs, similes and onamatepoia.

The gate cracked as it closed.  A big ginormous spider dangled from its web.  The lanterns lit up the long dusty pathway.  Woohooo! I was scared.  I thought.  What could that be?  It was Halloween, but there was no children.  The bats flew around in the moonlight.  The tree was very still like a statue.  I shivered in my boots.  My knees shivered as well.
